Episode #2 features live performances of three nursery rhymes: "Betty Botter," "A Wise Old Owl," and "Mary Had a Little Lamb."
Nursery rhymes are a lot of fun and a great way to practice consonant sounds or rhyming. Sometimes, they even teach lessons. The poem "A Wise Old Owl" was used in WWII to remind people that "silence means security." See for yourself here. Of course, we may just use the rhyme to remind us to be better listeners.
"Mary Had a Little Lamb" has been a favorite since 1830 when it was published. Apparently, Sarah Josepha Hale wrote it about a real girl named Mary who had a real lamb. She took the lamb to Redstone School, which is still in existence to this day.
