This is the Opera 10 beta, and Firefox (version shown in video, don't remember the numbers XD)

Just to show you that Opera is better than Firefox. Maybe not add-on wise, but everywhere else it's generally better. Faster, more efficient (uses less RAM than Firefox, vanilla install of Firefox too.), and IIRC uses less disk space as well.

As said in the annotation, here's a Wiki link with results to make this more fair: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acid3

And to be a bit more fair, Safari and Google chrome DO get 100's, but Chrome just sucks, and Safari on Windows uses so much resources it's not even funny. (It's just fine on OS X, mind you.)

The OS I'm running is Windows 7 RC 1 (Build 7100). My PC specs are:
CPU: Intel Pentium 4, 2.4 GHZ
RAM: 1.5 GB
Video card: Crap. GeForce FX5200 128 MB AGP

  • I like both, but I feel as though Firefox is kind of slow, but less glitchy. Opera is fast, but a bit glitchy. A lot of things just don't load up right with Opera, unlike Firefox...

  • @TheSecrecyOfSolitude

It really depends on the websites you go to, as a some website designers are geared towards making their websites only work correctly with certain browsers, rather than fit within the general standard of web design.

  • Bench marks don't really matter, every web browser will be different depending on what machine you're using. I've been network engineer for almost 2 years, and no web browser is actually faster than each other, it all comes down to your computer and it's hardware.

  • @gimmieurBRAIN

And not to mention the optimization of the browser thereof. If you had a totally unoptimized, horrible, slow browser, chances are it'll run generally slowly on most computers. Which isn't to say I'm pointing fingers, but still =P

Additionally, it really depends on the benchmark, and whether you're getting the same general results globally.

  • Opera Sucks Balls & Ass! Worthless browser, stick with Firefox, nothing can beat it.

  • @espirates2 Except for the fact that everything can beat Firefox in pretty much every benchmark except Internet Explorer. While I admit, I do LIKE Firefox, the performance isn't very good.

  • These days, Opera > Firefox. Opera is fast and lacks the stupid memory issues. That, and the add-on support is great!

  • opera has good things

    opera > firefox

  • @shqipdonnumberone yeah but it took what made chrome great and added on to it.
