  • This is a very good score.....

Think about the fact that this car was based on the earlier launched 850 series...

Now you can see ''again'',...how good the savety is of Volvo cars.

BTW: Don't think that other marks of this age and class had the same good score for Euro Ncap.

Some (Also european!!) marks had absolutely dramatic,..or better said deathly results that time.

  • It got 4 Stars.

    Pretty Good for Its Age

  • @Brandic2020 woha don't be so racist dude!

  • pretty damn good considering it's basically a facelifted 850

  • Volvo make cars to save lives, not pass tests. I wouldn't trust any other car with the lives of my family.

  • @sgtcht92 And now it belongs to a group of fucking Chinks!

  • It didn't do that well despite the age of the design. You have to remember that 90% of Volvo's reputation for safety is based around marketing bullshit. The S60 and S80 both scored averagely in this test. When Euro Ncap was first launched Volvo was scathing in its response to the results describing the process as flawed. I'm sorry but they were just furious that the Volvo crash cash safety cow had been exposed as the bullshit that it was. How else did they sell such shit cars?

  • no bad for a 10 yeal old car but still better a mordeao crummy little french hatch back

  • Go to euroncap's website, go to the s70 test.

Look at safety equipment, Front passenger frontal airbag. It's not checked!

  • @fmccloud Doesn't matter if only the driver side was crushed, both airbags should deploy in a front end collision, just like you see in any other crash test video

  • @Dualshock21 Because only the driver side was crushed. Though, I'm not sure if they both were supposed to deploy, just what I noticed in the video.

  • Heheheh, The "passive safety" in these cars is TOO good, It's hard to lean forward to check for traffic without clotheslining myself with my seatbelt. Other than that, I love my car.
