@forsmers1 I've actually researched, the airbag doesn't rotate with the wheel, it sits in a stationary container behind the wheel housing (doesn't move or change orientation, so it always deploys this way). The original poster was talking about if you got hit while making (as in already in) a turn. So if you were hit then, the bottom of the steering wheel would be on top, and the tether would be where you head was. (If it was not stationary, but good thing it is).
@soccerdude7330 I'm not positive, but I don't think that the airbag turns with the wheel. I think it stays in its orientation in container behind the wheel, but not a part of it...
Great idea if you ask me... but what if the airbag deployed while making a turn? Wouldn't the airbag also be turned a different direction, defeating the whole purpose of the different tether?
@zack5417 nitrogen gas from a small explosion (controlled) so the airbag will fill fast enough

@zack5417 it comes from your asshole. you need to have the cord going from your asshole to the airbag in order for it to work

@jctevere it does rotate along with it but by the time the wheel turns youve already hit it.

@zack5417 Nitrogen gas. Some have compressed nitrogen or argon gases to fill the airbag.

It's nice to see Ford continue to make innovative technologies. And that's a very nice looking dashboard even though it's colorless.
