I will show you in this video how to back up all of your cydia apps/ packages into a contact file which is great if you are thinking of updating your firmware. Simply download the app named "PKGBackup" off cydia and run it, then select backup and sync with itunes to save your backup data (usually about 20kb) then just download PKGB again and open the backup and hit restore, your sources should restore and your packages/ apps should all be back. I also show the backing up of the icon layout, this can also be helpful, I use SpringBack for this (also from cydia). Simple.

bananasonfire99 3 months ago
does that mean if i restored my ipod, rejailbroke it and downloaded PKGbackup and springback from cydia, then i could still restore my cydia data?

why do you need pkg backup if springback backs up everything

For some reason, Pkgbackup crashes while backing up the files?

@joshuaps3kid ; omg big thanks! i been trying to find an app that saves games and your suggestion is the best! (applinks is so much work!) :D you've been of great help!

@whunenonly Well, I was on 4.3.3 in this video and you can see that it works fine, so yes, it is 4.3.3 compatible. No, I don't think it saves game saves but I use DataDeposit which is free from cydia and it backs up your game saves to dropbox (dot) Com. which is a free online storage service. This is also a great way of moving the saves from one idevice to another. Hope it helps...

@joshuaps3kid - thanks you for that and couple more things (if you can!) is it compatible wit ios4.3.3. and does it save game data for cydia apps? i.e. certain levels you obtained in a game from cydia, will it be saved? thanks again! - i got mixed answers when researching and could not decide whether it does or doesnt
