A short video displaying the responsiveness of my low budget (US$200) Android tablet the Zenithink ZT-180. It carries a 1ghz Arm 11 Processor and runs on the Android Froyo 2.2 platform with a very stable ROM.

I've rooted the device and have Launcher Pro running on it. It comes with full access to Android Market as well. As you see the resistive touch screen works really well providing you know how to use it. Those used to capacitive screens will have some problem adjusting and may instinctively dismiss resistive devices as rubbish, but just look at the video and see for yourself how responsive a resistive screen can be when used properly. A light touch with your fingernail will usually suffice, especially in the dragging and scrolling motions. No need for a stylus or extra force with the finger.

The browsing is fast and responsive, so is You Tube and video viewing. Games are alright but I wouldn't recommend it as a gaming device. The ZT-180's screen however has a very poor viewing angle and this makes it a little annoying at times. Otherwise I would say it's an excellent low budget tablet computer which works really well. Btw, just a reminder for those comparing this with the IPAD or much higher end tablets, you should compare apples with apples :)

  • messiah361...is yours the exact same tablet? If it doesn't run Froyo but runs 2.1 instead, then it would explain the lag. Froyo does make a huge difference. The other thing is do install Launcher Pro as the home screen manager and it will smooth things up. If you have the unit with 256mb of RAM then you may find it slow as well. Having 512mb make a big difference on an Android tablet. Hope you manage to sort it out. If you are running 2.1 then I would suggest immediately flashing it to 2.2

  • If you buy from a US distrubutor that is reputable they will pre install this software for you as well as put the actual android market on it too. Im getting mine sometime this week and I only paid $154 for it with free shipping

  • @flipoutuhhuh

Did you flash the Froyo firmware onto it? It doesn't come with Froyo since that is a custom ROM build.
