I Recorded this on my little practice pad set up in the garage. Sorry for the crappy sound! This is the stuff I've been working on for a while. Metronome set somewhere between 60-80. Depends on the day. I'm making beats out of different subdivisions. Anything from 2 to 8 usually. I try to switch back and forth between them so I really have to concentrate on staying with the click. There is no time to "settle in" on one. It can be difficult but its worth the time. After doing this, playing straight "normal" beats with the click is easy!! Thats pretty much the point of the exercise but it also gives you some interesting new ideas too. I'm about to start writing all this stuff out soon. I want to put it into a little short practice system book. Stay tuned...Thanks for watching!!

  • Buddy you are amazing! You are offically my new favorite drummer and thats saying a lot since my last favorite drummer was Jojo Mayer :) I'm not a big fan of shredding. I prefer listening to wierd ass grooves that truly groove and that seems to define you. Keep it up!

  • @JohnDoeBand1 Thanks man!! I really appreciate that. I feel the same way, the groove is what makes me happy

  • great stuff as usual! I bet your bass player really hates you for making him lose the "one" ;-)

  • @otb1234 Haha! I don't do much of this stuff in a band setting. It's more of a practice thing. I'm sure the bass player would not be happy!
