Part 1 Steve Lonegan of Americans for Prosperity was the featured speaker at a general meeting co-sponsored by Rally for America Tea Party and the Rockland Tea Party Patriots. He gave a very informative presentation on the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), which effectively imposes a Cap and Trade system at the state level for 10 northeastern states, including New York and New Jersey. He demonstrated how the program masquerades as an environmental issue, while actually it is nothing more than a vehicle for wealth redistribution on a MASSIVE scale. Mr. Lonegan's explanation made very clear why our energy bills, as well as our costs for EVERYTHING that takes energy to produce, transport, etc. are rising astronomically -- and will continue on their fast moving upward trajectory unless we pressure our state legislators to REPEAL THIS MONSTROSITY. The meeting was held at the New City Library on Wednesday, March 2, 2011.
