Just break my heart to see all of these dogs and cats, I do hope that many of them found the home or some go back to their owners. Thank you so much for all of the people that taking care of those dogs and cats, you all are an angels.

thanks for all your hard work in making this visible.
If we all try we can help. New Orleans and the Katrina aftermath caused me to rethink a lot of my life

That's so sad! I was in New Orleans last weekend, and I was amazed at how bad conditions still are outside of the downtown core. 530 days after Katrina, I saw entire neighborhoods in St. Bernard Parish that are still condemned, homelessness, and many other problems. I made a short video of what I saw from the train, and I hope others like us will keep covering the rebuilding, since the mainstream media isn't.

I took my 6 pets with me. I did not think twice about it.I know people learned alot from Katrina in a very unfortunate way. I would like to know, why didn't this shelter get mega grants like the New Orleans shelters ? Why don't they apply? Contact companies like Purina and foundations like The Doris Day Foundation ? Surely, if they made the right contacts help would come. People love animals, but the locals are having difficult times, you need to reach beyond.
Adoptions from outside the local area have had a huge impact & are still needed-especially for cats. Since this video was made an animal behaviorist named Rory O'Neil from Canada coordinated an effort to adopt dogs from this shelter to families in Canada. YouTube user MissBoomer (aka Susan) is an American who helps transport the dogs to Canada & the US. Check out MissBoomer's videos for more info. And THANK YOU to Rory, Susan, Deb, Tina & the shelter staff for all your selfless service.
