  • Thanks to everyone who left comments and ratings. I am a little surprised that this doesn't have more "legs." Less than 10% are leaving ratings, and it's already dropped off the honors pages.

By the way, there are other debates being proposed. I came across one that's inviting the "top tier" only: Giuliani, McCain, Romney, ... and Ron Paul. I lost the link and so far I haven't been able to google it up.

  • The problem with the chess clock is, that in the end candidates will run out of time and the cadidates, who still have time left , will be the only ones talking. Could end up to be somehow boring.

  • What is your alternative?

  • great idea- may happen on the internet but cant see it happening on CNN!

  • Let's assume good will.

  • Sanity. People should not fall into the trap of those show-offs. Instead people should vote for candidates who can show that they listen and don't need to make cheap points with flat sound-bites. Unfortunately Pied Pipers still succeed.

  • An excellent system indeed. However it's unlikely it will ever be carried out because it works in favor of candidates who can think quickly and give direct answers, like umm... Ron Paul? :)

  • cnn bores me and they only fuck with us...

  • Very good ideas I'd love to see a debate in that format.

  • Excellent Idea. I wish someone from CNN was watching this...

  • good ideas jive!

  • One problem! I think there should be standards - casual or profession dress and simply ask the question, or text. Screening videos - show all submitted videos and rejects. If rejected youtube shows reason and you can upload again. Several days before they show the videos they picked for the debate. Then Youtubers can veto a few questions and push others to the top.

  • i agree except i do criticize CNN for being biased.

  • Jive, CNN is part of the CFR.

Sadly, it less about being fair and more about getting one of their members in office.

  • YES Chess Clocks are a great idea, I thought about that too. The only way to get fair amount of time.
