I welcome the HSR as the track should be elevated (like san carlos) or tunneled
traffic near downtown will be sooo much better

@tyronewright64 and another thing about this HSR route, Caltrain is going to be Electrified so they don't have to hear or feel the rumble of the diesel engine any more.

in 2012 thats when they start on the high speed rail construction.

the other news about high speed rail is that they will be either elevated, trenched or tunnel, and Caltrain is going to be with the HSR so no one doesn't get ran over by the train any more, and they don't have to hear bels and wistle any more.

these little town should not complain about high speed rail in there towns as fast as baby bullet comes through the town they shouldnt complain with high speed rail you have less noise with caltrain you have horns plus crossing bells at every street goin off the the train going by so they should be happy for high speed rail.

yes they are doing this project to make the system cleaner and more energy friendly so there wont be a lot of co2 in the air.

I wish we had a commuter train. :[ I just hope this transportation bill will be passed in '08, then we might have a commuter trainthat is right next to the causway. :]

Hey im from Louisiana and we don't have commuter trains and ive benn to the mountain wiew area and been to San Francisco on those trains. Those are preaty fast!

Yes they are fast, but at the moment they are trying to electrify this route and make it faster. Hopefully this gets done soon. They are hoping for 2012 (not sure on this though).
