Entoloma Abortivum is a late summer, early fall mushroom. It sometimes comes under attack by the Armillariella Mellea, which turns it into a white blob. However, both are a good edible when fresh.
@femalien It's not uncommon to find the non aborted mushrooms around, but most of the time the aborted specimens are there some where. Personally, I like the aborted mushrooms dipped in a batter and deep fried, served with cocktail sauce. They kind of taste like shrimp that way. Just make sure they are hard and firm and not soft and mushy. I live in southern Michigan. Davison, just east of Flint. Thanks for watching !!

How common is it to encounter unaborted forms of this mushroom with no aborted forms nearby? What region are you in?
