Benedict XVI today received Mrs. Dalia Grybauskaite, President of the Republic of Lithuania. During cordial talks they focused on the positive presence of the Catholic Church in the history and life of the country, and expressed a common desire to strengthen good bilateral relations. In addition, they had a fruitful exchange of views on the role of Lithuania as it prepares to assume the presidency of the OSCE. Also discussed was the current economic and social situation, with particular attention paid to families and young people. In late morning, the Pope also received Archbishop Joan-Enric Vives Sicilia, Co-Prince of Andorra.
