Nelle Harper Lee, author of "To Kill A Mockingbird" accepts The Birmingham Pledge Foundation's lifetime achievement award. She spent some time with students from Mountain Brook High School and Fairfield Prep in Birmingham, AL. These students, from all white and all black schools came together to put on a GREAT performance of To Kill a Mockingbird. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhpIsmbnd9I&feature=relmfu

  • this isn't harper lee, this is some kid's barmitzva.

  • @TheDogRibs No! It really is Harper Lee. She was so gracious and spent so much time with the high school kids who were staging a performance of "To Kill A Mockingbird."

  • Wow - she's so insightful. Really glad you posted this. I'm going to take her words here to heart and live by them. My favorite moment from this video is when she says:

"fdjsdasdkjgkfgsajfgkvsabakvgkasbvsvassclascas". It's too bad the feedback and camera noise and student aren't more audible, as I think they should also get a fair spotlight in this video.

    Excellent Video. 18 stars.

  • There are some other vides from the same event at different times, some with still photos. Also, a video of the students stage production, a must see.

  • your right about that anna4tory

  • She did talk quite a bit to the students and other people who came to meet her. She was very gracious.
