  • Wellington initially issued orders to give up Quatre Bras and open a gap between the two allied armies. Had it not been for the direct insubordination of two British officers to purposely disobey the orders and leave a small force at Quatre Bras Ney would've rolled up on the rear of Blucher's right and destroyed it. Forcing the center and left wings to retreat away from Wellington making Prussian intervention at Waterloo impossible and making Waterloo itself untenable for the British defense.

  • @Vampirewolfking I agree, but, he was the only one who could defeat Napoleon.

  • @Estwaldvaati Wellington was "scared" (for lack of a better term) of Napoleon, thats why he never fought him in Spain.

He only stood in Waterloo because a) He chose the location himself, and he knew it well.

    b) Blücher and his Prussians were coming.

Wellington was good commander, but he was not better than Napoleon.

I dont want to argue, just saying...

  • @meiscoolize But you let the bureaucrats in Brussels tell you what to do don't you? The men of the enlightenment would spit on your "European union". The soldiers that has kept France free would fight to death to end it. Now will you have pride in your country and do the same, or let France disappear in the future united states of Europe?

  • :)
