From the 2010 auditions of X Factor (week 1 - London) meet auditionee Katie Waissel. Her bright and bubbly character will stand out for some time, however far she goes in the competition. She sings two songs in this audition, with the first being We are the Champions by Queen followed by At Last by Etta James.
She wins a place in bootcamp and hopes to hit the big time, but this isn't the 24 year old year's first attempt to achieve fame and fortune. The singer songwriter also starred in her own online reality TV show in 2009.
The web venture titled 'Green Eyed World' followed Katie (who then used the surname Vogel) as she jetted off to New York, met with industry insiders and tried to crack America with her music.
As of 22nd August she is under investigation by the show, after allegations that she has a record contract in the US under the name Lola Fontaine. If true, she has broken rules for entering the competition and could be asked to leave.

She wasn't even unprepared though... She rehearsed at last and they wouldn't let her sing it.

@samisspink It's a slang term for crazy or strange. This is not necessarily my opinion of Katie, but was a phrase widely used about her in the press after the first audition. I have asked it as a question in the title, to gauge people’s opinion.
