  • Lol? 8 feet off the ground? Why not go 14 or so, it actually gets you above the deers line of sight, this wouldnt work that well for a bow setup where i hunt.I used to build these a few years ago,but like i said 14' 2x4s arent that expensive.I nailed my steps to the fromt side of the rungs though.

  • we did these short so we wouldnt have to trim a lot of trees. plus we use them at night for the hogs. i cant remeber why we nailed them on the inside. thx for watchn!

  • Did the wood split from nailing in on the short sides of the boards?

  • sorry took so long to get back,i didnt know a comment was left. it didnt split, its better if you go on the front.i cant remember why we nailed them that way. thx for watchn!

  • sorry but you guys would never make it in carpenter school.your ladder rungs should be nailed on the 2" side of the 2x4 ...and get a real hammer.ball peen is for metal fab and automotive repair.

but other than that,it IS economical and I will be building one for this fall.for deer.

I was on the ground last year and they smelled me easy...this year look out!

Good idea with your stand.but if you're going to make a video, try not to belch.

  • we know!lol!!! we were slapping it together, still dont know why we did the rungs like that, there was something behind it that day. they do work out great for the price! thx for watchn!
