what is the minimun thickness for an electric guitar?
-
@OBrienGuitars I need to find a supplier that sells quartersawn lumber. Not online, just b/c i want to look through the wood myself. I think i'm gonna go with walnut on my next guitar. Cedar top black walnut b/s, walnut neck. Ebony fb and bridge. gonna be sweet.

@najtrows for sure we do. Lets not open up this can of worms, especially on a video about guitar building. Okay? I've seen soo many massive arguments on other videos that shouldn't have even started.

can flatsawn wood be used for necks or quartersawn Only?
sirgreggins8824 3 months ago
@sirgreggins8824 Some folks use flatsawn lumber but the guys I know who do are laminating it. I prefer quartersawn, even when laminating.

The chicken came first. Yes, the tree will make a sound. No, snakes do not have lips.
....So answer the question! on or off the body for neck carving?? :D

@dandeliontea7 The answer is whatever makes you feel more comfortable.

Thanks Robbie. I'm getting close to carving my first neck. I'm much more confident having seen this. That is the best, most clear explanation I've seen. You really take the mystery out of it.
