He is the famous Kappekere Bhagwatharu. I never heard him when his voice was better but he is wellknown for grip on laya that dancers like most. He singing style is traditional and not Neela Gaganadolu type. I have heard my grandfather talk about senior Gaaniga, Kappekere,Nebbur, Mudugodu Krishana Bhagwathru as some of traditional singers of his time.

What a "Grip" in that Bhagavatike!!!!. Only K.P.Hegde is able meet that standard among present Bhagavaths. It is very unfortunate that Kappekere Bhagavathru lost is SWARA in his 40s. Please post if any other videos of this Bhagavath (Kappekere Subraya Bhagavath)

Bhagavatha is one of the best traditional bhagavatha we have.A true legend. He is Kappekere Subraya Bhagavatha. I agree his voice is not so good, but he is truly 'Laya Thala brahma'..Nice to see him on youtube..Thanks for uploading...
