Chapman's Ice Cream Factory Fire, September 4, 2009, Markdale, Ontario Canada. Fire broke out at the Chapman's Ice Cream Factory Friday morning, September 4, 2009. Video Taken by Amanda Ashton that afternoon, shortly after several explosions reported to be hydrogen chloride cylinders exploding. We experienced the intense heat of the fire, and observed people loading shopping carts full of Chapman's Ice Cream, in fear of running out.

This was a sad day for Markdale. Being a resident here and walking past the old factory breaks my heart. They JUST finished the renovations a week before hand. But, the good thing is that they've rebuilt an entirely new plant that is almost flawless. Markdale will ALWAYS bounce back!
