First of all, I admire Robert's success!! Second of all, this is not a "classic immigrant story" Why? Because he came to Canada when he was 8 yrs old, wich is the perfect time to immigrate; you're still young, you start to go to school here,you learn language fast at that age..He had tough times, but what immigrant didn't? If he came here when he was 20 or more, not knowing the language, fighting for immigration status and succeded, that would be a story..the key word is Canada, not Croatia!!

Out of all the DD stories, this one tugs at my heart the most. I don't think he's miking the pubic about the fact he was poor, but the media sure does!

He actually broke down in tears in a Shark Tank pitch because they were discussing the CanadianAmerican Dream and he talked about how proud his dad was because he had a job here, even if he was just pushing a mop.

@TheBlueRose2008 Of course he was happy! Imagine you being an immigrant over 30yrs old , don't know the language, coming to a foreign country, with wife and kid, you'd be happy with any job. Especially at that time back home ( I'm from the same place he was) you couldn't even mop floors...That's why he said to him don't complain, because over there you couldn't have any job. Now the question is would he achieved what he did if he stayed in Croatia? I doubt it......
