This is a project for my freshman film class, Digital Frame & Sequence. In the class we take photos and make short videos. For this project I decided to contrast wealth and affluence in New York City with the city's poverty and dead end streets. Often people visiting or living in New York are distracted by the glamor and the rush of the city to notice the things around that matter the most - the people. When I first arrived in the city I was surprised when I would see homeless people sleeping on steps and the sidewalks at night. Now I find myself passing by without noticing because it is so common. This video only represents a tiny fraction of a large problem in New York and other cities.

  • The homeless are almost all victims of their own choices and many want to be homeless unless someone else provides perfection without rules. (bobolink)

They decided to become drunks, they decided to use drugs, they decided to run away from responsibilities. There is all kinds of help for them if they want to make the changes that are required.

Many of them simply want others to give give give without making any effort themselves.

Ava should worry about Ava. Ava should take care of Ava.

  • The DUmmy's at DU will eat this up. It's the only place that the little moonbat is popular.

  • GREAT:::BRAVA...ciao, visit my milano nord video too

  • Good Job! A+

  • Ava, how many of these homeless people have YOU invited into your home and fed a meal?

  • Liberals would have condoned all these people being aborted, had they known they would grow up poor and disadvantaged.

"For their own good," doncha know?

  • So, how many have you taken into your home lately? Or for that matter, the person who posted this?

  • NYC is one of the most liberal cities in the world so it's no surprise that the homeless are treated like trash. They give lip service and claim they care, but that's as far as it goes.

  • A country is ultimately judged by how it cares for those that are the least fortunate. We will not be judged well. Beautiful photography.
