The Village-Based Pre-School Project

Children will have equal rights to access basic education programs; Relieve the burdens on parents; Increase enrolment of children in grade 1, and Preventing child trafficking and oppression.

1. Services: Primary services of the project include: Providing vulnerable children with pre-school classes for those aged three to five. Combining education with supplementary nutrition and referral for medical treatment.

2. Location: Village-Based Pre-Schools are set up in existing space available in the villages. The minimum requirement is a safe, clean area that is free from hazards and provides safe drinking water.

3. Management and coordination: The Village-Based Pre-School Project is managed by the Cambodian Childrens Advocacy Foundation in association with the village chief. The teacher is chosen by the local people and receives technical training and mentoring by government trained pre-school teachers.

6. Beneficiaries: In an average village, CCAF estimates that there are approximately 25 children aged three to five. The Village Based Pre-School will be able offer early childhood education classes to these children.
