  • It is the spirit of our times.

  • @brobenz Screw that, it ain't the themes that suck nowadays, it's the music, plain and simple. I just heard a song by John Coltrane that undoubtedly spoke about the contents of his own heart, clearly about his personal issues, perhaps love. But the music was there.

In any case, if you're listening to MTV or the radio, you're doing it wrong. There are MANY new musicians doing great stuff! If you're only interested in old genres you MAY be disappointed, but keep an open mind!

  • @eeeeebailey Yea i have 2 credits already for college and i DID NOT SAY i didn't like this song i actually kinda do but i dont really have to listen to it and im not in iss

  • John Mayer anyone?

  • THIS SONG REMIND ME OF THE YEAR 1970.WHAT A YEAR LOVE YOU CURTIS MAYFIELD AND I CAN NOT FORGET THE IMPRESSION

  • @snootsy811 was not able to find any information about the Chambers Brothers recording We're A Winner, and would love to know about it. Thank you.

  • Had the opportunity to interview Mr, Mayfield in '79, and he was tickled and completely bemused as I described how, when I was 14 years old in late '67, I'd sit in the ocean on my board in SoCal waiting to catch waves, singing "We're A Winner" to myself. He said, "If I could write a song in the Cabrini-Green housing project that touched a young white boy surfing all the way out on the west coast, well, I guess I did my job." Yes, he certainly did, and we are all better people because of him.

  • Now we are talking, a bad ass song. Easy to sing to. And easily too short!!!!

  • Sheer pleasure ! Thanks for posting

  • @brobenz Amen!!
