I like your style very much.

Very few would even try this on the guitar. Nice job! I have one of the Piano versions out there. (the one on the ivory grand)

anyone know where i can find guitar tablature for this?

With your "muggin" & "classical nylon string feel", you've almost changed the character of the piece. The original feel is one of a slow jazz ballad with some existential lament. I felt like i was watching the video "nothing else matters" by 'Metallica'. Aside from that, you rock dude!! Really. The chord voicings and harmonics...the change in octave on the second turn through the head...you nailed that part...really REALLY nice!! I hope I get to jam with you someday.

@tycoljr: That was awesome! I'm a bassist/guitarist & i really appreciate you transcribing this for guitar. This is one of my favorite soundtrack songs of all time. I'm like,"FINALLY a guitarist does a version!". Really nice.
HOWEVER...I got two critiques for you: 1.) I wish you hadn't have "mugged" so much; you reminded me of James Hetfield from Metallica...& 2.) Your attack & feel started off jazzy but ended sounding more like a classical nylon guitar piece from the middle towards the end.

@scaxxomaxx YouTube is so full of clueless people endlessly complimenting amateur or mediocre arrangements or performances of songs, then when someone actually criticizes, that person just OBVIOUSLY doesn't know what they're talking about.
-
@scaxxomaxx Yes, that IS fluid. There is no cutoff of the sustain. The voicings are in no place chopped. I'm not talking about rubato. The notes and chords are ringing together fluidly. When transcribing piano to guitar, that is typically the most important element to consider. The guitar's biggest limitation in comparison to the piano is the lack of sustain, particularly when considering a piece written for piano and utilizing that instrument's sustain to the fullest.
-
@AlexNiedt or 3rd option:I understand what you're talking about but for me it's the opposite.
/watch?v=h9r9gh6Htj4 this is the studio version, you call this fluid? man,it's BASED on rythmycal variations, speeding up and slowing down.Obiouvsly he can't play it perfectly on a guitar, but he's doing an arrangement,so at the same time he can make the tune easier to play, and can also put his own interpretation.
-
@scaxxomaxx Rubato and choppy playing are not at all the same thing, so you either don't understand or can't hear what I'm talking about.
-
@AlexNiedt why insulting me? I don't even know you.Anyway,it's based on rubatos. This HAS to be the correct feeling of the song.Just look at the partiture,it's EVERYTHING in rubatos. If you can't mentally get the feeling of the song, please don't keep insulting.Peace.

@scaxxomaxx I understand the piece very well, thank you. This is obviously well under-rehearsed. Either simply the limitations of his playing or the choices of fingering are causing melodic lines and other voicings to be inappropriately cut off. That is not musical. There are hesitations and muffed notes all over...room for improvement everywhere. But you're right...I obviously just don't understand, you condescending ass.
Thanks a lot for the great feedback, I appreciate all of it

nice. was wondering if thats standard tuning since it was originally arranged for piano.

Thanks for the comment. This is standard tuning, but I had to omit some of the notes in the piano voicings to adapt for guitar. I am going to try to redo using flat wound strings on a different guitar because the intonation on this recording is not very good.
