People today are always saying athletes shouldn't be role models, and today's athletes often say they don't WANT to be role models. But look what happens when a great athlete is also a great father, a great husband, and just a very good man in life. I've watched Nicklaus since he blew the 1960 US Open as an amateur. The greatest golfer, and one of the best men I've ever seen in 60+ years.. Kids need role models like this man.

I began playing golf in April of 1971, when Jack was on top and climbing higher. I patterned my swing after his. He was great then, and is the greatest now. In all these years, I have never heard of him cheatin' on his wife. Tiger, you need to work on yourself...

Jack Nicklaus has been my biggest sports hero. I just wish that I could have been born in 1957 instead of 1967. I do not remember all his great victories. However, I do remember watching the 86 Masters the greatest sporting event I ever witnessed,
