  • My answer to dancefloor

  • @Dancefloorsuechtig : Hey you... The basic steps are slow quick quick slow quick quick - correct.. But sometimes the variations are not supposed to be slow quick quick, because there are some double of steps or timing in this - for thereafter coming back ti slow quick quick.... But you´ll always have sllow quick quick - and so do they have(the professional here)...

  • whats the name of this song??

  • @Dancefloorsuechtig Dann sieh dir mal Rumba oder Samba an, da heißts auch nicht immer slow-quick-quick other slow-a-slow.

Es gibt eben mehr Figuren als nur die mit dem Standard Schrittrythmus...

  • @totalgeek1337 Just remember that this video is not a video of Basic foxtrot. They're doing a lot of more advanced figures so the timing might be harder to see. The "Hilton Basic Foxtrot" video sticks to the standard syllabus for the most part and thus contains easier rhythms to follow.

  • @Dancefloorsuechtig The "basic rhythm" is SQQ. Foxtrot is written in 4/4 timing, so it's important that at the end of some form of figure set you have taken a multiple of 4 counts. Once you start dancing more advanced figures you will find more advanced timings as well. Long series of quicks appear, as well as SSSQQ rhythms, as well as syncopations as SQ+Q. That phrase you mentioned above (taking S as 2 counts) is 10 counts, so would normally be preceded or followed by 2 quicks or a slow.
