"Selena!" Her father's voice boomed from downstairs. She assumed he was setting the table up for dinner. They had unpacked all yesterday and there was still a lot to work on, but for now, he promised her a home cooked meal that included her favorite dish and she was going to get it.

"I'm coming, I'm coming!" She replied from the bathroom on the second floor. For a cabin, this was pretty huge and it made a gorgeous house. She wondered if all the other's looked like this.

She stared at her reflection in the mirror and saw a girl with a decent lightly tanned skin tone staring back at her. She had perfect white skin, not too tan, and not too pale. The vacation to Florida had helped balance it out. She used to have flawless brown hair; her natural hair color was a very nice dark brown oak color, but she had just dyed streaks of blue, purple and pink in her hair, along with white to make it look like something new. The colors were vibrant and stuck out but let much of her natural hair settle the look just right. Right now, it was perfectly straightened because she had spent the past hour in her room dressing herself up for no apparent reason. After straightening it, she tied it into one braid, beautifully done and cascading down her shoulder. Boredom kills, as they all say. She put on a light shade of gray for her eye shadow and a small black liner with some gloss to her rose like lips. She planned on going out to explore the town after dinner, and for some reason, the boy she had bumped into yesterday kept popping into her mind.

He was gorgeous, but she knew she didn't have a chance. No one noticed her, even if a few did say she was beautiful, she was emotionally damaged. Nobody wanted to be a therapist to their girlfriend every day, and that is exactly what she had needed in the past.

She sighed, pushing the memory of her past relationship out from entering her thoughts.

Selena head downstairs and seated herself at the dining table. Inhaling the aroma of the cheesy dish set on the table, she smiled. "I really am amazed by how well you can cook," she stated as her dad seated himself and she took a serving out of the chicken parmesan dish.

"I had to learn for my baby girl," he replied with a smile. He took some salad and noodles in his place before reaching for the chicken.

"That's not gonna help your diet, dad," Selena replied, laughing softly. She stuck her fork into her chicken and took a bite out of it making sure the small piece was wrapped in enough cheesy to make her taste buds melt.

"Well don't you look all dressed up, going anywhere?" her father asked.

She took a sip out of her glass of water; she refused to drink anything else simply because water was her favorite drink. Nodding, she swallowed the sip down her throat. "I was thinking about exploring downtown, I guess. Or the only busy part of this weird town.

"Well, don't get too lost, call me if you need a ride. It gets pretty dangerous here when it snows. Especially because of the frequent blizzards."

Selena looked out the small window that was in the kitchen. There was some snow falling, but it was fine. "I'll be fine, dad."

After finishing her meal, she got up and put it in the sink. She helped her dad clean up the table then head out of the house, making sure she didn't step on ice. Walking down the small path from her home to the "busy" street, the first thing she spotted was a café. She buried her head into the multiple layers of hoodies and long sleeved shirts and tanks she was wearing and headed towards it.

----

Justin leaned back in his chair in the café and smiled to himself, out of what his friends were talking about. Ryan sent his hat flying toward the brunette haired boy, causing him to become aware of his senses.

He picked up the hat from his lap and looked at Ryan. "What, man," he said.

"You still can't get that girl out of your mind can you?"

Justin's eyes had widened a bit. It scared him that what Ryan had just said was the truth. And that meant he had made it obvious, which led him to believe that he had let his guard down. This wasn't right, and he had to be more careful.

"Shut up, bro," he replied, but the corner of his lips turned into a smile. He was going to say yes, that she was on his mind, just when the café's door opened and in stepped the beauty that was rested in his thoughts.

This will get better, I promise.
