Play on "HQ" to see more of the details of the babies inside of the nest box.
When the adult Bewick's Wren feeds its babies at the front door of this nest box, the babies come to the opening to be fed. You can see an open mouth and the characteristic white eye stripe.
The adult's feathers look ragged and unkempt--this is their second clutch in 3 months. They have been hunting and feeding nonstop--they need a vacation! Soon after this was filmed everyone fledged.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the videos. They are so much fun to watch! In another nesting box in a different location in my yard this year a pair of adults raised another 2 clutches! What dedication is right! Thank you for your comments, gardentheater!
