I simultaneously discuss and demonstrate my strange accent, which some think is British. I also mention my Bone Anchored Hearing Aid, and the disorder which necessitates it. If you enjoy laughing at kids who talk funny, you have my express permission to do so.

  • There's no such thing as a british accent GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMIITTTTT!!!!

  • @RebelSword

Answer #1: Sure there is. Of course Welsh people and Southern English people and Northern English people and Scottish people all talk differently, but they share certain similarities that differentiate themselves from the general American/Canadian accent in English, even though there is likewise a great diversity of accents on this side of the pond.

    Answer #2: Nah, you're right, that's true.

  • those mean things people say to you must hurt like bullets in your bwain...

  • so send me the dratted file already, eva.

  • I wear a Bone Anchored Hearing Aid too :-D

  • really? does it help you out? I don't wear mine too much anymore; it gets noisy on the subway.

  • nothing's wrong with your accent, but anyone ever wanna kick you in the balls for your bad haircut?? jk.

  • @coolchicnfriends uummm how does that happen, exactly :/

  • my accent is worse. i am american and my accent is a mixture of asian, european, and american. it is very unique and people often question where i'm from.

  • nothing unique .... regular thing IMO

  • I love your video. Your accent sounds very similar to mine. I'm American but nobody can pin down my accent. People (who don't know accents) have been asking me if I'm British, foreign, etc since I was little. I have a speech defect caused by childhood ear infections. My accent differs from the typical Midwestern accent mainly in the pronunication of the letter r.

  • You have an amazing voice. I love it. :)

  • lol, i have very strange accent...i 'talk funny' as other people say. I was born in dayton ohio, and lived in norther central ohio for alot of my life, i have no hearing problems, nor is anything paralyzed in my mouth, toung, cheeks, etc. but when i say 'box' it comes out as 'bwox' LOL, i find your accent quite interesting, and then again, i have alot of people asking me if i am british...

  • I am Spanish speaker and I could understand all what you've said, your accent is very normal to me. I have a 22 months old son with bilateral microtia and I hope in a future he can wear a baha. greetings!

  • The New York and Brooklyn accent actually come from various British accents... e.g. some people say "idea-r" with a soft r at the end. The cadence is also similar. Listen to Carl Sagan sometime (another Brooklynite who covered up his accent) and someone with a received London accent learning an American accent sound similar to Sagan in pacing.
