This is a song written by Helen Mottee for and about refugees and Internally Displaced People around the globe. It is especially dedicated to the peoples of Burma who have sought freedom and democracy for these past 50 and more years. To the Free Burma Rangers and the White Monkey family, I owe an eternal debt of gratitude, for not only educating me on these issues, but for inspiring me to write and sing about them.
Your passion for justice and to serve the suffering and oppressed is the candle that the darkness cannot put out.

This song for me is like a sledge hammer in a fine china shop. The Irony is we have displaced people on our door steps in our cities and by-ways, Burma, Sudan world wide and yet many of us choose to be blind and deaf to the cries of help of those in need. Helen thankyou for this challenging video and song and blessings to you and Jim as you continue the work.
