I had heard the version by Colours, but had no idea the it was merely a cover of this song. I like both of the songs, however. The words are obviously about the Summer of Love but in a sense once could almost think of life at a monastery, too. The line about they sing instead of talk there reminds me of the various prayers and services of the Eastern Orthodox Church :)
