Recycling tips from the NY based "Eco-Twins" while they're visiting Hollywood!

How does Melissa McGinnis travel and recycle at the same time?

It's such a great question and Melissa is glad that Tyler asked her that. Being green on the go is easy if you look for a Greenopolis kiosk but one of the things that Melissa would always like to you to do is to hold on to your bottles. Don't just throw them away at the first trash can you see. Hold on, keep it in your purse, or hold it in your hand until you see a recycling bin. That's how to recycle on the go.

If there's no recycling bin then you can take the bottle home and maybe draw a face or make something new out of it.

This is such a great tip. Everyone can learn from this one. If you can't recycle it, then try to find a way to reuse it.

Recycling helps the earth because it could save animals, it could save birds, puppies and all kinds of them. A lot of the animals that recycling helps to save are the ocean animals. There are a lot of animals in the ocean that mistake trash for food. They're eating things that we could be recycling.

Does Spongebob like to recycle? Absolutely, I recycle every single day.

What's the best part about Melissa's job?

Meeting people like Tristan and Tyler. Melissa loves going and meeting all different people, talking about recycling in ways that we can help save the earth.

Tristan likes to save the earth too.

We had fun today. Thanks for hanging out with us!

  • These kids are adorable!

  • Nice tips. Last time I went on vacation, I drank a ton of Snapples while I was out of state, so I put them all in a bag and then took them home where I could return them to the Greenopolis machine at my Whole Foods!
