Thirty artists from seven countries artworks will be in the exhibition entitled ORIENT 2009 - ASIA-KAWAII in Singapore, sponsored and hosted by Arty Art Gallery, Singapore, co-promoted by Intl Association for Asian Artists Network, and under supporting from Japanese Embassy to Singapore, Singapore Embassy to Japan and Myanmar, Embassy of Union of Myanmar to Singapore and ASEAN-Japan Centre.
Since ancient times in Japan there has been the sensibility to cherish imperfect things such as youth, a spark of light that lasts only a very short time in one's life.
KAWAII culture has been based on this and been represented through animations comics and girl's fashion amongst other expressions of art around the world.
Nowadays when people mention the word KAWAII it resonates a sense of beauty and magnificence.
Arty Art Gallery founder Ms May Thanda Oo said, Orient2009 is more than an art exhibition, you will learn the culture and creativity of each represented artist for their countries. By any chance that you are in Singapore, do drop by and learn the different culture and creative arts. This exhibition will showcase the diverse artworks from Belgium, India, Japan, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore and the USA.
President of International association by Asian Artist Network Ms Yoko Yamada said We, contemporary artists featured in ORIENT2009 Asia- KAWAII in Singapore will transmit a KAWAII culture of praising the beauty and spark of youth throughout our artwork. Not only art lovers and artists are welcome to join us in the praise of KAWAII culture, everyone is!
Official launching will be on 16th October, 2009 at the Arts House, Gallery 7pm and exhibition is open to all till 19th October 11am to 8pm. If you miss these dates, you can make an appointment for private viewing from 21st October till 21st November at AAG studio 55 Verde Singapore 688684.
