  • What a good looking train. It's sad that it will have to go now. -.-

  • Hi, I think so, too. I like this lifelike train and full-fleshed face.

Thank you for subscribing!! Have a nice weekend.

  • Is there one Shinkansen 0-series reserved for museum-purposes? It's by far the best looking Shinkansen there is! That nose is just like one of an aeroplane! :)

  • Thank you for your comment!! It's true that like an aeroplane. Because, engineers modeled Shinkansen on airplanes. So lovely face, like a little bird. Series 0 Shinkansen is exhibited at many Japanese museums already. I don't know about future of this shinkansen train. Many rail cars will be dismantled and be scrap iron. So sad. If a museum which wishes to assign appears, only head rail car will be assigned by JR. Even if it is a foreign museum.

  • How sad, this is the most original shinkansen, yes? And they will disappear before long. Kids love them, kawaii!

  • Thank you for your comment! This first (the most original) Shinkansen train is so lovely face(^o^). There are so many people who have attachment for it. Because this Shinkansen train had been running for 40 years or more. Japanese people have many fond and pleasant memories of this train. But now, it is low-performance train and also superannuated. I feel sad, too.

  • It is a tribute to the quality of the train that it lasted in service for 44 years. How many trains can last that long, and have such an impact on history? I'm sad to see it go.

  • what an amazing train, beautiful face, almost life like when compared to the newer trains. greetings from nyc.

  • Travelled on these extensively back in 1987; smooth, quiet and extremely spacious. Great to see some still running.

  • Beautiful train. My desktop background is a picture of the preserved 0 unit in York. :) Too bad that they were scrapped. But hey, the 100 & 200 series are still up and running, and they pretty much resemble the original 0 series. I have to visit Japan before these get phased out aswell!

@panacealand: Since you obviously know alot about Shinkansen, I have a question for you. Why were the 400 series retired so early? Here in Holland, we still have trains in service which date back to the 60s.

  • I loved that train. I have a book that has a picture of the 0 series train. They look cool compared to the new ones.

  • 元祖夢のちょうとっきゅうだ

  • この、ジェットエンジンみたいな空調の音がたまらないね!

  • @panacealand I had the honour to go to Omiya Railway Museum and saw the head car of 0 Series. It was a happy moment!!

  • Come to our national railway museum in york uk and we have a front end of a series 0

  • Dōmo arigatō for this video!! Such close-ups of the entire train, both interior and exterior, was just what I was looking for!

  • @UrsusArctosT34 The Chicago BiLevel gallery cars on BNSF line, built by Budd, have been runnin, till this day, since 1950!!

I love the 0 series, I wish I had the chance to ride in it, I should have gone to see it.
