I have had the misfortune of visiting Moldova six times in the past two years. (I work for an international bank). I can honestly say it is by far the dirtiest, most run down and whore infested country in Europe.

I hate the country and the people . . . don't get me started.

I was born in Chisinau

but I left with my family to Israel when I was 14

My mother tongue is Russian, I visited Chisinau twice 1996 and 2008

Still have family there

Every time I hear name Chisinau, my heart is singing :-)

may be my happy childhood is calling

That is true, and I was actually born In Moldova but went away to the United Kingdom for my education. I have not forgotten the language of my home country and I do love it either way, but there is no denying that the city and country itself needs more taking care of. The new Mayor has sloved some of the problems though.

I came to Moldova a few days ago and live in an apartment in Botanica.

It is not a great city. Sorry to be so hard, but it is not great. Dirty and eroded houses, people do not follow driving rules, holes in the roads (a lot of them)

the pavement is destroyed by the roots of the trees underneath and there is way too much poverty. A LOT of sick and old helpless people. Don't get me wrong, great traditions, but poor conditions. It looks great at night, but the country and city needs cleaning up.
