    you dont need to go that far back. electronic as the new standard for songs is a recent phenomenon. for my taste music peaked with 90s grunge. since then electric guitars have been avoided like the plague in the top 40. in the golden age michael jackson was kicked off the no.1 spot by nirvana

    i loathe it because it's all about the vocals and the music behind it is always some generic electronic pop beat afterthought. i miss bands that sounded like bands. with guitar and bands that sounded like bands. everything now sounds like keyboard synth
