http://www.webtogs.co.uk/search_preset_947532 the North Face Venture Jacket is a great value piece that has some technical features you may not expect for the money. In this video we take you through the what the Venture Jacket has. Whilst we do that, here's some more information for you;

With the technical proficiency to endure wild storms and a design smart enough for city streets, the North Face Men's Venture Jacket is a classic all-rounder. It's waterproof and fully seam-sealed for total protection from the elements, but thanks to its HyVent fabric it's breathable too, allowing excess moisture to be drawn away from your body to be evaporated. The Venture Jacket's hood is fully adjustable via a drawcord so that you can wrap your head up tightly during downpours; and removable so that you can ventilate when the sun comes out again. Cuffs and hem can be adjusted for the fit you require. Stowable in its pocket, it's a no-brainer to throw the Venture jacket into your pack for rain protection whenever you need it.

Features: * Standard fit * Waterproof, breathable, seam sealed * Attached, fully adjustable hood with hidden drawcord system * Center front zip and Velcro closure * Brushed chinguard lining * Pit-zips * Two hand pockets * Stowable in hand pocket * Velcro adjustable cuff tabs * Hem cinchcord

Tech details:
Weight: 354g / 12oz

Fabric: nylon ripstop HyVent DT

HYVENT DT: The North Face proprietary waterproof and breathable fabric, HyVent DT is an applied polyurethane (PU) coating combined with a DT print matrix which acts as a dry-touch, "half-layer" coating. This DT half layer adds durability and comfort by physically separating the HyVent PU coating from the skin.

HyVent DT eliminates the need for a liner and is commonly referred to as a 2.5-layer fabric. Instead of a true half layer, our competition typically uses simple prints, which have no function other than delivering aesthetic value.

  • Is this jacket good for doing sports and like road running, as I need a new jacket to keep me dry and breathable!!

  • @evalover1 We would probably say it isn't as good for road running as you need something that can cope with high aerobic activities. We would presonally go with a wind shirt as although not waterproof, you will be generating so much heat it won't be as important.

  • I am looking into buying a good winter jacket, but just for daily use like walking to university. I want a north face jacket that will allow me to stay warm while only wearing a thin shirt under. Would this "Venture" jacket suffice? Please advise

  • @RumbleM0NKEY Possibly not, take alook at the McMurdo, Sentinel or Yellow band parka videos we have made as these are good alternatives.

  • @koryan Best bet is to check the chest size against the size chart - any problems though rest assured we'll sort them with our Zero Hassles exchange policy.

  • @webtogs thanks well I have ordered one. just hope its the right size for me. I am 6 foot 4 and 84kg and ordered a large. Im hoping with the toggles/drawstrings it should fit me well.

  • @koryan It's up to you what is more important, and if you feel you need a longer length, I wouldn't disagree. This jacket is perfect though for daily wear as it is lightweight enough to put in your rucksack, and forget about until the rain comes down!

  • parka is better dont you think, for the longer length?

    Also do you agree this would be good just for daily wear as I need a waterproof jacket just for going to school

  • @rfalpha Definitely, it just depends on whether you run hot or cold as to whether you go for a 100 or 200 weight fleece. I run hot so I go for a merino wool base layer, lightweight fleece and Venture jacket at that temperature.

  • Do you think this TNF Venture jacket paired with a good fleece layer could hold up against -2 Degrees Celsius?
