  • @billy do you mean rhythmic accuracy or notes cause i know i missed a couple of notes.

  • Thanks for all of the criticism everyone:), and im glad you all like my video. I understand their are a lot mishaps their should be accents on the double lateral part in 6/8 i believe? lol i just never got it down before i posted this video. Also there are like a couple of ritards that i missed. thanks none the less:)

  • well when i played it at State the judge told me i was playing it to fast and i played it at tempo at state lol. So i slowed it down for the video and yeah there is a lot of mistakes in this video not going to lie.:/ I missed that rit. I know my bad lol

  • what exactly is a 2 at state? i'm assuming you're not in florida ahaha

  • In the 6/8 section, its not a hemiola, so the accents are every 3 notes for like 3 or 4 bars then there are no accents...

    3. Dont be scared to play soft and really go after the piece.

    4. It looked kinda like you were focusing note-to-note. Think about the bigger phrases.

5.Mallet choice. Your choice wasnt bad, it was just a little too "thudy" on the lower notes. (I realize that you need some harder mallets for the upper register, jsut saying they could be a little softer.)

    Not bad over all. :)

  • Im learning this piece now. So these are some of the things that I had to work on when I play it, and some of them apply here as well.

    1. In the Chorale section, dont think of each individual roll as a phrase. The phrase is two bars long in most cases... The easiest way to phrase is to sing the piece. It will show you where the natual crescendos and decresendos are, as well as breath places, where you may not necessarily want to connect a roll...

    2. Watch the accents in the 6/8 section.

  • Accuracy is what you could have improved thats the problem i had at state i got a Div 2

  • OMG i make those SAME FACES when i play this piece!!!

  • i think this is the best vid of this piece on youtube that i've found. great work! i do have one concern though. its about the interpretation of the 6/8 sections after the measure of 3/8 as in measure 28 and 38. every video i've watched, plays it in the interpretation that this video has but when i look at the music its not the same.

  • Ah, I played this in eighth grade. It was so fun.

  • im learning this now! wish me luck =)
