California State University, Northridge professor Fermín Herrera is one of the very few college professors in the nation who teaches Nahuatl, a native language of this continent also known as Aztec and Mexican. When this temachtiani is not teaching you may find him playing harp with Conjunto Hueyapan of Oxnard, California. Founded by Herrera, Conjunto Hueyapan has performed both nationally and internationally, from the Kennedy Center in Washington DC to the legendary show Siempre en Domingo known throughout Latin America. Herrera has also recorded with Los Lobos and mexican rock band Jaguares. Alongside his family, also members of Conjunto Hueyapan, Herrera has dedicated himself to the research, documentation, and preservation of the son jarocho of Veracruz, México.
Great video.
