@renesmee23cullen I know what you mean, but I can think of two reasons: firstly, it was a gift from 20th Century Fox (I think they said - or someone important), so people may well want to know about the happy occasion for helping animals; secondly, naming him Aslan is so symbolic and many children (as well as adults) will love it and want to go there for the experience and be a part of it meaning the zoo will gain from the publicity and raise money to help the animals more.
