we italians had balls to take what was ours when our ancesters came to make a new life not disagreat the nation i think there is nothing wrong with the mafia besides the drugs becuase they cant do what they used to do back then so they had no choice but to deal in drugs also the government is the same thing they are killing people all over the world we made our own rules

lol i found that out the hard way on my first trip to italy :-)
Old people were cool, glad i was trying to communicate in any form of italian, young people looked at me like i had three heads! Now i'm trying to improve how i pronounce words and soften the accent some

Definitely true that many people here who say "i speak italian" really speak a dialect from whatever their native town was. I do know alot of people whose families came here in the 70's and 80's and even have some friends here that only came to the USA in the last 10 years, but thats NY and people come here all the time from everywhere

i'm not sure...i think most people are aware that italy is now a fully integrated european country. i mean i hope so, but i could be giving people more credit than they deserve...either way your country is fantastic, been there a couples times & look forward to going back.

My friends and I used to love to go to Luna's on Mulberry Street. Anyone else remember that wonderful restaurant? It's gone now, but oh, such memories...
