Recorded Nov 6 1969, this is part of Ellington's 2nd sacred concert. The clarinet solo is Russell Procope, & the Swedish Radio Choir is led by Eric Ericson.
The DEO personnel in this concert were:
Trumpets - Cootie Williams, Cat Anderson, Mercer Ellington,Benny Bailey.
Trombones - Lawrence Brown, Chuck Connors
Reeds - Procope, Johnny Hodges, Norris Turney, Harold Ashby, Paul Gonsalves, Harry Carney
Rhythm - Wild Bill Davis,org.; Victor Gaskin, bass; Rufus Jones, dr,; Duke Ellington, pno.

Duke Ellington wrote Sacred Concerts with Alice Babs voice in mind. Whenever she couldn't perform he had to use three singers to do her part.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU FOR this clip! Please do rename it for what it is, though--"Almighty God," as someone else has stated. I would have loved to find this long ago.
