it doesn't matter what political views you believe in. losing a pet is so difficult, last year i had to put down my cat, who was my best friend for 14 years. she was with me through: two deaths in the family, my parents divorce, high school, depression, a few heart breaks, & other things. i tried to be optimistic but when we got to the vet, they told us her condition was more serious than we thought. i could barely stay in the room, i ended up crying so much.

Thank you, Mark, for giving part of the book proceeds to shelters. I am a vet tech and I know where you are coming from. It is wonderful how you reevaluated your life when your dogs passed on. I have been through it as well. It is a very difficult thing to endure. Bless you for making the passing of your dog into a positive event by helping other shelter pets.
