Breda 4099, in a train full of 4000-series cars, leaves Forest Glen station on its way to Glenmont.

"October Rebellion" was a series of demonstrations in Washington DC on October 19-20, 2007 to protest the fall meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF).

  • Is it a Glenmont or a Shady Grove?

  • @Joey83812 Glenmont.

  • I've always wanted to see a Red Line train with Breda 4098, you sure got lucky on your all Breda day.

  • Why 4098 in particular?

  • Original Bredas are the best!

  • Technically they are all DC powered; everything except the 4000's does an onboard inversion. Given the size of the rail system using AC would have been far more efficient but good cheap AC motors were hard to come by in the 70's

  • I've never seen that car and I've always wanted to see the biggest numbered DC powered pair. I've always wanted to know what line it would be on when I finally first get to see it. Ah well I got four more years to see it in this form since I don't think all the 4000 series were delivered in 1991 and that this pair was probably delivered in 1992. I don't know what day in 1991 the 4000 series started arriving.
