(PART 1 of 2) ShowbizMonkeys.com got to sit down with "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" writer Brian Stack, who's also appeared on the show playing some of its most well-known characters, including Frankenstein, The Interrupter, The Offensive Ghost Crooner, The Traveling Salesman, and the Local Sports Athlete.

He talks with us about his start in improv and working with Second City, working on "Late Night" for the last 10 years, and what the future might hold.

Visit www.showbizmonkeys.com for other interviews, entertainment news, and contests.

(And yes, I realize I'm a very poor interviewer, what with all my "rights", "yeps", and "okays" smattered throughout. :P)

  • Does the interviewer have tourette's syndrome?

  • Read description. Fully acknowledged. First interview ever conducted. Nervously speaking with comedy idol at 11pm in Late Night offices at 30 Rock.

    Apologies, sir.

  • Rule one for interviewing someone: Don't keep saying "OK" at the person you're interviewing while they're trying to answer.

Rule two: Don't keep answering the question for them. Why do they need to be there if you're just gonna ask the questions and answer them too.

  • Rule one for commenting on YouTube: read the description for the video, where you will find my acknowledgment of my poor interview skills (this having been the first interview I'd ever conducted, done at 11pm on my last night in NYC, with someone I *greatly* admire).

So my apologies to you, sir.

  • Does anyone else find the interviewer annoying as hell?!? He is constantly overlapping Mr. Stack.

  • Brian Stack -- the nicest man in Show-Biz. Okay, I don't actually know anyone else in show-biz, but Brian dseserves all the good things that come to him.

  • great interview! good work keep it up

  • STACK ATTACK!

  • @TheTaskmaster - this is really embarrassing, but I don't recall writing that comment even remotely. It says I wrote it 2 years ago, but I don't remember watching this video at all. Anyway, sorry interviewer. I see your description and understand your nervousness towards someone you admire. All the best.

  • @octoberdays Chill, what's the problem? I'm surprised to see this.

It is a different style. It's not a 20-second ET interview. It's a comprehensive, conversational style like Kevin Pollak's Chat Show

  • Yes it is!

  • is this the voice of minty the candy cane

  • People who attack others' skills as interviewers should post up a couple of their own attempts at interviewing.

  • Jorgensen!!

  • Love Brian. His voice is soothing =D

  • Brian Stack is the nicest guy. He worked with my original teacher, Jodi, in Madison!
