While discussing Christine O'Donnell saying "Evolution is a myth", Shepherd told the panel and audience she doesn't believe in evolution either.

  • and btw, we dont need a single fossil to prove that evolution is true anymore. It can be proven solely by microbiology and DNA analysis

  • Because believing in talking snakes is a lot easier.

  • Sherri is a complete idiot.

  • Wow... Sherrie Shepard is as stupid as Christine O'Donnell... the blonde is an insipid tool too.

  • Is there something wrong with my audio? I can see a group of people talking about something, but all I hear is a cacophony of clucking hens.

  • It's not a matter of stupidity, it's a matter of not knowing how evolution works. If the theory of evolution actually postulated that we evolved from chimps, the question of why there still are chimps would be valid. But it's not like we come from chimps, we share a common ancestor with them. I think that after a calm conversation with an evolutionary biologist she would readily change her mind.

  • Thumbs down to Sherri Shepherd, thumbs up to this video pointing out her stupidity

  • You know, it's probably not that they know about Evolution, but more-so the word rings "This is against my belief". So, it's when you dismiss a theory based on abstractions you've made previously, with or without percepts of reality granting that abstraction to be reliably true. I'm not too surprised. Even outside the spectrum of religion people often give more entitlement to their abstractions than a reality that allows such things to even be thought up. Preference confused with truth, it seems

  • Oh my god they've proven it like six trillion effing times

GODDAMMIT READ A BOOK YOU DUMB HIPPOPOTAMIC LAND MASS.

  • @absourate As a matter of fact, these kinds of things are going to reduce variation and fitness, not result in it.

  • @absourate Yes bacteria change, but the real problem is our inability to produce drugs to combat every single variation that is present, not that they change in any fundamental way. The general belief is that all the bacterial variations are already present. It's not so much evolution as it is selection between variants. Its like us humans, we have whites, blacks, short, tall etc. It would not be evolution (significant change) if one characteristic was selected.

  • @semitope and even then, micro-organisms E.V.O.L.V.E. so quickly, there's a crisis with the efficiency of antibiotics now.
