Fry's Electronics in San Diego started their Black Friday sales at midnight. My wife and I thought we'd get a place near the front of the line by going at 9pm. As the video shows, we were very wrong. The line stretched from the entry doors, down the length of the building, and to the middle of the back parking lot. Once the doors opened, the line moved fairly quickly.

lol....3 hours from opening? Well, I've been lining up at Fry's quite a bit, when they opened at 5 AM. Earliest was on Thanksgiving morning 7 AM. And I was #20th group in line (obviously the 20 people in front of me are gonna hustle their friends and family in). That was Frys City of Industry. I no longer do it anymore because of their Saturday ads and 12 AM opening.

@MasterM0K I didn't like how they had two sale times this year. After the initial midnight sale, we ended up having to wait around for another 5 hours until the 6am sale started. Hopefully they change it back to only one Black Friday sale next year.

@LeDouxTube Probably not. As soon as they realized they actually MADE MORE PROFIT on a Black Friday--Previously, their one-day sale of loss leaders led to a clusterfuck on Black Friday but no-shows on Saturday and SUnday. By stretching the deals, corporate felt they could make more money this way.

@MasterM0K You're probably right. People sitting around for five hours get bored and mindlessly fill their shopping carts with crap they don't need just to pass the time. It's the American way of life. :P
