Such an awesome tutorial sent in by one of the members of the DIY Rebellion! These muffs are so warm and stylish.

  • I always wanted a muff when I was younger. Still do, I guess. :)

  • @Llotunt111

It cost me around $20 for everything, but I bought a whole yard of the faux fur, you don't need that much. I got everything at my local fabric shop.

  • who-whaaaa this is so cool!! how much did the materials cost you though? and where did you get them??

  • @KeybladeMaster33 ...well there was a clever little invention called gloves and mittens... ya know, those things that keep your hands warm and your still able to complete simple daily tasks... hmmmm...

  • I thought I already knew how to make one of these, but this one is so much nicer than the one I made!

  • I have always wanted one of these, but never realized what they were called :o too funny. still want one!

I suppose that's where 'ear muffs' comes from. hmm. neato!

  • So cute! Love that this is made by a "forumer"! Don't know for sure if this is common, but it's cool of Threadbanger, especially with such a well made tutorial. Nice work all around!

  • @Direness The pocket also gives me a great place to put a handwarmer for those really chilly days, too. That being said, lovely tutorial! Both my muffs are very large and black, it'd be nice to make a couple more compact, white & brown muffs to mix/match with my various vintage dresses & coats. Thank you very much!

  • I actually own two vintage 1940's lamb's wool muffs w/ pockets/purses built into them. I would recommend to anyone making one of these to sewn in a medium sized pocket into the lining before attaching the lining to the rest of it. The reason being - carrying these things is like carrying a small pillow around & it's very difficult also carrying a purse, phone, etc. around in addition to it. You may also want to sew a strap for attaching to your wrist, or clip for clipping to your coat.

  • must.make!!!!
