  • This is the WAY to do it right!!! :D

  • @Carl2 this is the JKA version, kanazawa does the SKIF version that is very similar, besides, katas are constantly evolving, kanazawas version is a very old video...

  • ok....why is the ending not like the hirokazu kanazawa bassi sho ending with the extending the arms and feet more?

  • @DunxMeister

correct speed is important. do you train karate? if you do, then you probably know the kata hangetsu, which is a very slow kata of karate (even slower than this). so, if there are very slow katas in karate, why wouldn't i think that this one might be one from looking at this video? also, im not being "so anal" because i suggested something rather than just trolling, and my comment on the speed will make viewers aware that they should look at another video to see the correct speed ;)

  • @MrEjals no one in their right mind would think this was full speed! lol stop being so anal

  • Bassai Sho is nidan kata for us , along with Enpi and Jitte. We have to do a Tekki kata ura (right side) as well. Kagawa Sensei... Respect.

  • this demonstration of bassai sho is not at the correct speed that it should be.

i know it might be at this speed for learning purposes, but i suggest that you either mention that its not at the correct speed or you could put this slow version and one version at the correct speed in the same video

  • oss. for kagawa sen. bow.

  • @ToraoDojo correct .old jka member.thanks.oss.

  • Dai, in Japanese and in this context, means major or greater of. The sho versions of Kanku and Bassai are no more difficult or demanding than any other kumite kata.
